**Math 10 Provincial Exams will be on Tuesday, June 23 at 9:00 – 11:00. Be there at least 15 minutes before your exam starts.

We saw a trig table that had ratios for all integer angles from 0 – 90 degrees.

Practiced the Pythagorean Theorem for a third day.

Looked at the other ratios that we can have when comparing any sides of 30-60-90 triangles and 45-45-90 triangles.

Practiced with the Pythagorean Theorem

Looked at two specific sets of similar triangles. We saw that 30-60-90 triangles and 45-45-90 triangles have some nice ratios comparing their sides.

Students wrote the Lines, Angles, and Polygons unit test today.

We will begin Pythagoras and Trigonometry next day.

We practiced calculating angles again, and looked at the vocabulary for describing angles formed by a transversal.

– calculating the measure of angles

– using a compass and a straightedge to bisect an angle

We continued to look at determining the value of an angle, and we bisected angles using a compass and straightedge.

Unit 5 (Mass, Temp, and Time) test today. Students should complete the Unit 5 workbook. The end of term 2 is coming up. Complete all missing work by the end of Friday, Feb. 27 to have it included in the term 2 report card.

Small class today, and shorter than usual, so we reviewed and some students looked at sample Provincial Exam-style questions.

The Mass, Temperature, and Volume unit test will be on Tuesday, Feb. 24.

We looked at time intervals again. There will be a time quiz on Tuesday. Ideally, students would have written the unit test on Thursday next week, but with the science field trip and parent-teacher interviews, the unit test will be on Monday, Feb. 23.
