Ministry of Education Math 10 curriculum

Math 10 Provincial Exams will be on Tuesday, June 23 at 9:00 – 11:00. Be there at least 15 minutes before your exam starts.

The last day to submit assignments or write/rewrite tests was Friday, June 12.

We are currently working on Final Exam review.
The Unit 8 – Earning and Spending Money unit test was on Thursday, June 11.

Looked at the other ratios that we can have when comparing any sides of 30-60-90 triangles and 45-45-90 triangles.

Practiced with the Pythagorean Theorem
Looked at two specific sets of similar triangles. We saw that 30-60-90 triangles and 45-45-90 triangles have some nice ratios comparing their sides.

– calculating the measure of angles
– using a compass and a straightedge to bisect an angle

We continued to look at determining the value of an angle, and we bisected angles using a compass and straightedge.

Unit 5 (Mass, Temp, and Time) test today. Students should complete the Unit 5 workbook. The end of term 2 is coming up. Complete all missing work by the end of Friday, Feb. 27 to have it included in the term 2 report card.

Small class today, and shorter than usual, so we reviewed and some students looked at sample Provincial Exam-style questions.
The Mass, Temperature, and Volume unit test will be on Tuesday, Feb. 24.

We looked at time intervals again. There will be a time quiz on Tuesday. Ideally, students would have written the unit test on Thursday next week, but with the science field trip and parent-teacher interviews, the unit test will be on Monday, Feb. 23.
